These are the steps to import a Maven project (JBoss Trading) hosted on GitHub into JBoss Developer Studio 5 (Early Access) for the first time.

  1. Add Private Key
  2. Checkout Maven Project from SCM
  3. Find more SCM Connectors in the m2e Marketplace
  4. Install Maven SCM Handler for EGit
  5. Select Target Location and Revision
  6. Import Maven Projects
  7. Setup Maven Plugin Connectors
  8. Install Maven Plugin Connectors
  9. Done

Add Private Key

If the private key is not named id_dsa or id_rsa, then it has to be added.

  1. Window > Preferences
  2. General > Network Connections > SSH2
  3. Add Private Key…

Checkout Maven Project from SCM

  1. File > Import
  2. Maven > Check out Maven Projects from SCM
  3. Next >

Find more SCM Connectors in the m2e Marketplace

There are no SCM connectors installed.

  1. m2e Marketplace (link)

Install Maven SCM Handler for EGit

  1. Maven (check box)
  2. Lifecycles (check box)
  3. m2e-egit (check box)
  4. Finish

Complete the installation. Restart.

Select Target Location and Revision

  1. File > Import
  2. Maven > Check out Maven Projects from SCM
  3. SCM URL (select & text box)
  4. Finish

Setup Maven Plugin Connectors

I have configured the Build Helper Maven plugin in the trading-ws-client module to add a source directory. This Maven plugin is identified and mapped to the appropriate Eclipse plugin.

Install Maven Plugin Connectors

  1. Finish

Complete the installation. Restart.
